In order for you to use your mask with the K-series units you will require the POWERbreathe Spacer People suffering from COPD and Asthma and may also require assistance with Oxygen, so there is also an “Oxygen Mask adapter” which links also to the POWERbreathe spacer.
Greetings, I am researching a study on the use of the POWERbreathe K3 device for IMST. But I can’t find this device. Would you please let me know if it is considered light, medium or heavy resistance. Also, is there a comparable and possibly more affordable alternative. Thank you, Gina Reply
Thank you for your enquiry, Gina. You can find more about POWERbreathe IMST for lowering blood pressure here, and the POWERbreathe K3 used in the study, here. Finally, the alternative device that Daniel Craighead suggests is one that reaches a resistance of at least 100 cmH20, to see the benefit. Therefore, the POWERbreathe Plus Medium Resistance IMT breathing trainer would be the most appropriate alternative. However, if you do go for the POWERbreathe Plus, please read the sub-section in the blog linked above, entitled ‘IMST – How to do it using the POWERbreathe Plus MR’. Reply
