WHO Recognises POWERbreathe
POWERbreathe IMT is in use the world over: by athletes for improving performance; by respiratory therapists for pre and post-operative training; in pulmonary rehab for ensuring patients make the most of their lung function; in ICU to help wean patients off ventilators; and most recently in COVID-19 recovery, with the World Health Organisation referencing POWERbreathe IMT as a tool to improve COVID-19 health outcomes.

Major Clinical Trial Uses K-Series

The University of Colorado Boulder chooses our POWERbreathe K-Series IMT device as part of their major clinical trial into the effects of Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training (IMST) on lowering blood pressure, reducing heart attack risk, as well as, boosting cognitive and physical performance. During the trial, they find significant drops in blood pressure and improvements in large-artery function among trial participants who perform POWERbreathe IMST.

While in attendance at the biggest cross-sector physical activity, health and performance event in the UK, Elevate, the POWERbreathe K5 with Breathe-Link Live Feedback Software wins the ‘Best Innovation For Human Performance’ award.

With POWERbreathe brand recognition growing worldwide, we are delighted to welcome 21 countries to our POWERbreathe International Distributors meeting; our largest in attendance so far. It’s here that we share news of the roll-out of the International COPD study, led by Professor Rik Gosselink and his team at University of Leuven, Belgium, and for which the K-Series is selected for the IMT intervention.

In the Autumn of 2010 and to much acclaim, we launch the World’s 1st Intelligent Digital Breathing Trainer; the POWERbreathe K-Series. This receives the UK Plastics Industry’s most prestigious award, ‘2010 Consumer Product Design of the Year’. It is later selected for a prestigious International COPD study, led by Professor Rik Gosselink and his team at University of Leuven, Belgium.

NHS Approves Medic For Prescription

NHS Approves Medic For Prescription

Our POWERbreathe Medic device receives approval for prescription in the UK by the NHS after rigorous assessment for clinical evidence, patient compliance and financial savings. The assessment finds it offers an evidence-based, drug-free treatment for patients with dyspnoea, especially those with asthma, COPD and heart failure.

Also, our POWERbreathe R&D team implements the latest in technology and research into the new POWERbreathe Plus IMT series, with new hi-tech design, optimised airflow performance, anti-bacterial qualities and other design developments.
