1996

From humble beginnings to changing millions of lives – what started as a simple concept has become a global movement.

In 1996, leading Human Performance and Sports Scientists at Loughborough University, England, UK, wondered if athletes’ performance could be further improved by training their breathing muscles. The answer was YES, resulting in the development of the first POWERbreathe device. Further developments were made at Birmingham and Brunel Universities.

Since then, POWERbreathe has been pioneering the development of Inspiratory Muscle Training (IMT) and more recently Expiratory Muscle Training (EMT) technology.

With its Headquarters in England, UK, the POWERbreathe Team today continue to create, develop, design, manufacture and distribute, world-leading medical grade respiratory muscle training devices to enhance respiratory health, and sports performance, and improve wellbeing and quality of life, for people around the world.
