The Wellness Plus IMT device is ideal for those with very weak diaphragms and breathing issues. The Wellness Plus breathing trainer is comfortable to use for improving the strength and stamina of your inspiratory muscles and reducing breathing fatigue.
Entry-level breathing training – The POWERbreathe Wellness Plus offers the lowest and lightest starting ‘load’ (weight) of all our devices (except for the K-Series), at 9cmH2O (or 1cmH2O without the internal spring). This ‘load’ training is similar to weightlifting, and the POWERbreathe Wellness Plus breathing trainer provides the lightest level of resistance setting (weight lifted) in increments – from 9cmH2O (or 1cmH2O without the internal spring) to 78cmH2O. The range between each training level is smaller than the original POWERbreathe Wellness. This makes it ideal for people who have severe breathing difficulties.
The POWERbreathe Wellness Plus provides resistance to your in-breath, making your inspiratory muscles work harder. Over time and with regular use, you will build breathing strength and stamina and your breathing will become easier. With stronger breathing muscles, tasks will require less effort and any physical effort will feel easier.
POWERbreathe Wellness Plus vs POWERbreathe Wellness
The POWERbreathe Wellness Plus IMT device is the newer version of the original POWERbreathe Wellness IMT device, with an ergonomic design for improved comfort. The POWERbreathe Wellness Plus is the second generation of mechanical breathing trainers and features the following design improvements:
- Optimized airflow performance to make training more effective
- Fully integrated, easily adjustable resistance mechanism
- Easy-to-read resistance level indicator
- Soft, comfortable mouthpiece
Breathing training with the POWERbreathe Wellness Plus focuses on strengthening your diaphragm rather than your lungs. This is because your lungs are a pair of spongy, air-filled organs, and not muscle, and therefore cannot be strengthened.
See results after 4-6 weeks – Consistently follow the training regimen of 30 breaths, twice a day for 4-6 weeks, to feel less breathless. This is scientifically proven. Learn more about how the POWERbreathe IMT device works in our guide.
