Clare Chadwick, Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for Paediatric Complex Asthma & Breathing Pattern Disorders, St George's NHS Trust and Respiratory Physiotherapist for the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health
Clare will present the current evidence for the application of inspiratory muscle training in the paediatric population. She will discuss her personal experience in practice along with the impact that IMT can have on children’s health, physiotherapy and recovery.
The webinar will examine:
- the current evidence base underpinning IMT for paediatrics
- real-life examples demonstrating the clinical application of breathing training, across a range of conditions
- its potential to improve patient outcomes
- how to introduce IMT into your practice.
Respiratory Health and Rehabilitation in Long Covid
10th Jun 2026, 10.00 - 11.00 GMT (04.00 - 05.00 CST)
Professor Mark Faghy, Internationally recognised researched in Clinical Exercise Physiology, Loughborough University
This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of the respiratory consequences of Long COVID, with a focus on understanding the pathophysiology and how this can guide rehabilitation strategies. Led by Professor Mark Faghy, the session will explore:
- the complex and multifactorial nature of persistent breathlessness, fatigue and exercise intolerance experienced by many patients
- the role of respiratory muscle training (RMT), drawing on current research and clinical practice
- the impact of targeted therapies like inspiratory muscle training (IMT) as an important tool within multidisciplinary rehabilitation pathways
- the future of research in this field.
