We are seeking a Graduate Software Engineer to join our dynamic team to help develop new features for our existing mobile, desktop and web applications, as well as design and develop new applications based on user needs. As a key member of our small yet dynamic team, you will play a critical role in developing new, innovative products in the field of computerised, electromechanical, breathing and training devices.

POWERbreathe International is the market leader in non-pharmacological management of respiratory diseases through respiratory muscle trainers. We offer fully mechanical and electrical products with varying functionality that are used by a wide range of users from patients trying to wean off ventilators or recovering from a lung transplant to professional athletes who are trying to improve their lung capacity and strength.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with the development team to ideate, design, and implement new features and enhancements for our existing mobile, desktop and web applications, using agile methodologies and industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Help to design and develop new mobile, desktop and web applications based on user needs.
  • Work with the team to identify and resolve software defects and issues.

Software Engineer Key Skills and Experience

Required

  • A degree in computer science / electronic engineering or similar.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Swift, C++ and the Qt Framework, Java or Kotlin, TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with mobile, desktop or web application development concepts, technologies, and tools.
  • Experience working on individual or university project work in application development.
  • A passion for software development and a willingness to learn new technologies and skills.

Desirable

  • Experience writing firmware for microcontrollers / embedded systems
  • Experience writing UI tests for mobile applications: Kotlin / Java or Swift.
  • Experience in mobile game development.
