Model used: POWERbreathe Plus – medium resistance Tuesday 1st March 2011 I started using a POWERbreathe Plus (pink one). I know what you are thinking very girly but hey if it gives me motivation to use then I will give it a go. I chose the medium resistance device because I was finding that I was getting breathless when walking uphill, even though I consider myself to be an active walker. I have only been using the POWERbreathe for one week so far but will keep you informed each week with developments. Wednesday16th March 2011 I’m getting into a good routine now and using my POWERbreathe every morning and night. As I've only been using it for a couple of weeks so far, I can’t say that I've noticed a great deal of improvement in my breathlessness yet. However, I do seem to have more energy - but that could be the onset of spring!. Monday 28th March 2011 I’m now in the third week of using my POWERbreathe. Sometimes after work I walk into town. On the way into town there is a steep hill and usually by the time I reach the top I’m rather out of breath. However towards the end of last week I noticed that I shot up the hill without feeling so out of breath, so I’m confident my POWERbreathe training has now started to kick in. Date: Monday 11 April 2011 I’m into the fourth week of using my POWERbreathe and am now feeling the effects on a regular basis. I‘m walking around and up hills with little breathlessness. I’m also in a local ladies choir and I have noticed that I can hold onto the higher notes for longer. Date: Monday 25 April 2011 I am now noticing a great improvement after using my POWERbreathe. I have started walking at night after dinner, now the nice weather is here. I used to have problems with breathlessness after walking up hills, but now I seem to be striding up hills with no problems at all. I have also got into a regular pattern of using my POWERbreathe every morning and night; it’s so simple.
