South Korean track cyclist, Ho Sung Cho trains with POWERbreathe

Apsun Inc, our POWERbreathe friend and distributor in Seoul, South Korea have sent us news that they’ve been working with South Korean track cyclist, Ho Sung Cho from the Seoul Cycling Team. Ho Sung Cho was the national athlete at the Guangzhou Asian Game in 2010 and later in the London Olympics in 2012 where he competed in the Men's Omnium.

In track cycling events the Omnium falls into the category of an Endurance race, as opposed to a Sprint race, and challenges the rider’s stamina with its 6 events raced over two days. Omnium racers train and race hard both on the road and on the track. Apsun Inc will be working with Ho Sung...

POWERbreathe K3 - strengthening muscles forgotten

Our friend and distributor in the Czech Republic, TrueconneXion, were contacted recently by Freeride.cz, probably the most famous magazine that focuses on extreme sports in the Czech Republic. They asked if they could test the POWERbreathe K3 as they wanted to write an article for their cycling readership, after the article editor realised that the deficiency in strength he felt in his legs during cycling was actually down to a problem with his breathing. During prolonged exercise he found himself to be out of breath which subsequently restricted his performance. So he got in touch with Speedweaponry at TrueconneXion to see if he could borrow the...

    Training: Get some air

Our POWERbreathe friends and distributor in the Netherlands, Trainjelongen, contacted us as they were delighted to see an article about how training your breathing muscles can improve cycling performance. It appeared in the Cycling magazine, ‘Fiets’, which has the largest circulation for cycling magazines in the Benelux.

The reason for their delight? Well the article, originally written by Nick Morgan from Bike Radar/Cycling Plus and translated into Dutch by Fiets magazine for their readership, discusses ‘evidence that improving breathing ability may be more important than previously thought, and that endurance athletes can improve simply by paying attention to their...

Czech triathlete “breathes a litre more” after training with POWERbreathe

More great news from our POWERbreathe friends in the Czech Republic, TruconneXion.

Last week, on the biggest Czech triathlon website www.etriatlon.cz, young amateur triathlete, Lukáš Netík’s wrote about his positive experience of POWERbreathe training.

Lukáš started POWERbreathe inspiratory muscle training in 2011 on his Level 2 Medium Resistance (MR) model. With regular training he gradually increased the resistance load as his breathing muscles became stronger, but he soon got used to this increase in strength.

"I admit that although I trained according to the instructions, it was usually only once a day....

POWERbreathe in the Czech Republic, Truconnexion, are delighted to report that their POWERbreathe sponsored athlete, Cyclocross rider Martin Bina won the final World Cup race in Hoogerheide, Netherlands.

It was Martin’s first world cup victory and second podium after his third place in 2008…and this after he had to take a two-year break because of knee surgery. POWERbreathe became his essential training tool during his recovery, and he’s been using it since 2011.

POWERbreathe at The London Bike Show 2013

POWERbreathe supported Koolstof cycling equipment this year at The London Bike Show, with a POWERbreathe zone in the Bike Radar Training Hub – view gallery.

Visitors moved from zone to zone where they were advised at each stage as to how best to improve their cycling performance. Over the 4 days, POWERbreathe adviser, Duncan (our very own Mr Motivator), trained over 120 cyclists interested in improving their breathing strength and stamina. There was fierce competition too, with many wanting to compare their breathing strength, power, flow and volume with fellow cyclists, on the POWERbreathe K5. Existing POWERbreathe users also visited Duncan for some...
