POWERbreathe at Henley Classic

Henley Classic now taking place on 8th July.

The Henley Classic is a 2.1km endurance upstream River Thames swimming event, held over the Henley Royal Regatta course, and our very own Duncan from POWERbreathe will be there for the 4.30am start (he gets all the good jobs!).

Please pop over to the POWERbreathe gazebo and see him as he’ll have camped overnight so as not to miss the early birds. He’ll be demonstrating the POWERbreathe K-Series as well as having the POWERbreathe Plus on sale.

Ignoring his tired and dishevelled look (he’d have spent the night in his tent after all), you could test out your breathing strength against others – the K5 just seems to just keep bringing the competitor out in everyone! So if you’re around, please pop over to POWERbreathe and say “hi” to Duncan.

He'll be eager to explain how POWERbreathe can help you to breathe in as much as possible, and improve swimming performance.

How can it improve your swimming performance? Well when you’re lying in the water your breathing muscles are 16% weaker than when standing upright, making it even more difficult to draw in breath quickly. This means that your tired breathing muscles start to reduce blood flow to your arms and legs by reducing the flow of oxygen to them and slowing you down. POWERbreathe inspiratory muscle training can help you overcome these challenges!

If you're a swimmer already using POWERbreathe to help with your breathing while swimming, please leave a comment here as we'd love to hear from you.
