Here are my POWERbreathe K3 results for the month.

The T-Index is so high due to my first 2 breaths when setting the workout.

I know I’m weak when I’m breathing in and there is no resistance to work ones lungs harder. I just need to try harder! I also feel as if I need to give you some of my inspiratory muscle training results, as I’m sure this affects your strength and capacity of your lungs. I am only 1.63m in height and am a slight build weighing 45kg.

  • Ben Barwick - Me and my POWERbreathe K5

    by Vanessa

Hi my name is Ben Barwick and I have just started using the POWERbreathe K5 for training my inspiratory muscles. As I have only been using it for a few days the process has been more of getting used to using the unit and software than actually seeing and feeling any results.

A little about me to begin with. I started running about 18 months ago, when I ended up doing a half marathon on no training in just over 2 hours. Little did I know that on that day, a seed was being sown, which very quickly, with very little cultivation from me, grew into an addiction, a running addiction. I did my first marathon in November 2010, and ran 3:58. I then decided...

    by Vanessa

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, also known as COPD, is very common these days, and it appears to be getting worse, especially amongst young women. COPD is a disease you can have and not know you have it.

Here are some COPD disease facts:

In the UK today, COPD is a disease that affects 2 in every 100 men and 1 in every 100 women (Source: Soriano JB, Maier WC, Egger P, et al. Recent trends in physician diagnosed COPD in women and men in the UK. Thorax. 2000; 55: 789-794.) Over 600,000 people have been diagnosed with COPD, but three quarters of this number who have COPD may not be aware they have the disease (Source: The Respiratory...

Recently our Duncan was on yet another trip abroad, lucky him getting to go on all these 'jolly boy's outings' while we slave away at POWERbreathe HQ.

Anyway, joking aside it is all work really......

Duncan's last trip was to Slovenia to go and see the POWERbreathe Distributor    In Tact Group.  Whilst there he was introduced to Martin Strel AKA known as Big River Man. Martin Strel is a legendary Guinness record marathon swimmer, who has always been looking for the challenges of impossible and the Amazon was the recent one. On April 7th, 2007 Martin Strel completed his epic Amazon river swim all the way...

  • Modern Health and Fitness - POWERbreathe for anyone with lungs

    by Breathing Trainer

POWERbreathe first came to my attention many years ago when one of my patients who suffered breathing difficulties brought one to clinic and said that it had helped his breathing condition more than any of the inhalers he’d been given.  As his nurse I wasn’t in a position to tell him to throw them out and stick with the POWERbreathe but I think that’s what he probably did!

After that I started thinking about what a POWERbreathe could do for anyone with a pair of lungs - or even only 1 lung but for some reason it’s taken until now for me to get my own POWERbreathe. I’ve been using the Fitness Plus model for nearly 4 weeks.

    Because I’m a bit of a saddo...

  • Madeline Simon (MS) - POWERbreathe helps me with my Pilates

I’ve paid for my last month as a member to my gym. Don’t worry I am not giving up my exercises; I will do them elsewhere on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. They put up the membership and I couldn’t justify it to myself. Luckily I do my Pilates elsewhere, so no change there. Surprisingly, or maybe not, my POWERbreathe helps me with my Pilates and I seem to have enough stamina throughout our full-on hour – EXCELLENT!

Just a little disappointment at the end of the week, I had an impromptu meet up with one of my sisters at Bicester Village (a shopping spree!) and I was shattered afterwards. I suppose a combination of not sleeping well at night and...

My name is Darren Peacock and I am a Corporal in the Royal Air Force for the past 15 years.

My Job as a Survival Equipment Fitter involves working with adhesives and Isocyanates so every 12 months I have to take a COSHH medical with involves a peak flow test.

I was looking for a way of improving my results and remember I had seen a Powerbreathe product in the Argos catalogue some years back so decided to buy one.

I also stopped smoking on New Year's day 2011 and started running, last year I took part in 2 half Marathons and a number of 10k runs.

On the 22nd of this month I am deploying to Afghanistan for 4...

Well I’m still plugging away and about to reach a big milestone.  Half way which means I will have done once around the equator.  I can’t really comprehend how much has taken to get there but I wont of been able to do it without a lot of support.  My POWERbreathe comes in very handy especially with the early starts as the 30 breaths routine helps me with my warm up.

The nice thing in the run up to Christmas was not having many events to do, this meant I could focus on my cycling.  I did run the Southampton leg of the BUCs indoors series which went well.  Cycling up to Christmas involved a lot of very long 12-15 hour days.  Like wise after Christmas involves...

Well what a busy few days POWERbreathe had at the London Bike Show.  Duncan and Emma represented the POWERbreathe team and deemed it a success.

We set up a POWERbreathe training and assessment centre.

You may wonder how we ended up at the show, well here is how we did.  Future is the largest Cycling publisher responsible for the following titles:

Cycling Plus Mountain Biking UK Official Tour de France Guide Procycling Triathlon Plus What Mountain Bike

Well, they asked one of our customers Koolstoff of Exeter if they could pull together a very professional cycle training hub for the show to scientifically assess people and...
