Model used: POWERbreathe Plus Fitness – Medium Resistance

Day 1

I have been meaning to try my POWERbreathe Plus for some time, but for whatever reason I kept putting it off and finding excuses not to use it. Finally I found the motivation and picked it up. I set the resistance to level 4, breathed through it and thought, “wow this is really difficult”. Maybe it’s because I believed my breathing muscles would be strong, as I work out at the gym 2-3 times a week as well as regularly swim and cycle, but I cranked it back down to level 1 and carried out my 30 breaths, so much for me thinking it would be easy. We all take our breathing for granted; the only other time I really think about it is when I take part in a yoga class. On completion of a yoga class, but I do feel at one with myself (cheesy I know). I think this has a lot to do with seriously thinking about breathing and the relationship it has with your well-being. This made me think that POWERbreathe would also be great as a relaxation tool. I’m going to try it again this evening as I feel it will be really beneficial on helping me ‘wind down.’

Day 3

Today I participated in an ActiBreathe class using my POWERbreathe; I found it difficult to exercise as well as using my POWERbreathe, perhaps this was due to the fact that my brain is too small to multitask and I thought I could do more than one thing at a time! I prefer using it standalone as this gives me time to think about my breathing and the effect it has on the rest of my body.

Day 7

I didn’t use my POWERbreathe today as my glands feel swollen and my chest is aching – telling me I have used it properly and it’s not as easy as it seems. I did clean my POWERbreathe last night using the cleansing tablets, and I know this sounds really sad but I was impressed with the result
