Ironman & Iron Girl
Ironman is the world’s most recognised endurance event and the global benchmark for testing personal limits, created in 1978 to settle an argument over which athletes were the fittest – swimmers, runners or cyclists. Each year more than 40,000 athletes compete for slots in the Ford Ironman World Championships in Hawaii (2.4-mile swim; 112-mile bike; 26.2-mile run) and the Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Florida (1.2-mile swim; 56-mile bike; 13.1-mile run). POWERbreathe is an official sponsor of these two World Championships events.
Iron Girl was launched in 2004 and has since grown from 2 events in 2004 to 10 events nationwide, varying in distance from 5K to duathlon and triathlon. The relationship between POWERbreathe, Ironman and Iron Girl was formed following the recognition of the need for innovative, quality products that would enhance athletic excellence and performance. The officially licensed and branded POWERbreathe Ironman and Iron Girl Plus series’ were created following a multi-year License Agreement in 2005 with owners of Ironman and Iron Girl, the World Triathlon Corporation.

Concept2 Indoor Rower
Concept2 created the sport of indoor rowing which has since penetrated every aspect of the health, fitness and sports markets in the UK, from fitness clubs to schools, and the armed forces to the home and elite sport of all varieties.
Concept2 Indoor Rowers work all the major muscle groups in the body, giving a total body workout.
Rowing has a high respiratory demand, which means the breathing muscles fatigue early, stealing blood from the legs during rowing and reducing overall performance. By strengthening the breathing muscles, blood flow demand by the respiratory muscles is reduced, cardiac output to the leg muscles is increased and therefore performance will improve. POWERbreathe provides the necessary training for strengthening the breathing muscles, improving performance and endurance.
POWERbreathe has provided Concept2 with a POWERbreathe Training Guide specifically for indoor rowers, written by Eddie Fletcher MSc, Fletcher Sport Science, in collaboration with Professor Alison McConnell, Centre for Sports Medicine and Human Performance, Brunel University.
